Welcome to the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research's TMJ Implant Registry and Repository Online
The National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research's TMJ Implant Registry and Repository has been developed to improve the understanding and care of patients with temporomandibular muscle and joint disorders (TMJD). Temporomandibular muscle and joint disorders are common disorders causing facial pain, headaches, clicking, locking, and diminished functioning in the jaw. The TMJ Implant Registry and Repository asks both patients and clinicians to contribute clinical information and biological specimens from patients who are having surgery with TMJ disorders. With the help of doctors and patients, this project will allow researchers to advance the understanding and increase the successful treatment of TMJD. In particular, those patients who need TMJ implants in the future will be benefit from the increased understanding of TMJ disorders generated by the tissues and data made available.
